Kasalong rice brand originated from the Thong Tawat rice mill in Phan district, Chiang Rai province, Thailand, which was invented by Grandpa Suwan and Grandma Buakhiaw Setsri 30 years ago.
At first, they rode a tricycle for a living. With strong dedication and hard work, they could save up some money to buy a small pickup truck to deliver goods and later had enough funding to rent a rice mill. Finally, they got to purchase their first small rice mill. With continuous developments, they could expand the business to bigger and bigger rice mills and have partnered with many export companies namely Unigrain Co., Ltd. to export high-quality Thai rice to the world.
Kasalong is pronounced “Ga-sa-long” in the central Thai dialect. means Tree Jasmine. The Northern native plants with a history associated with the Lanna people in terms of belief and faith
since ancient times. People popularly plant Kasalong as a garden decoration and to collect its white flowers to offer to monks
Kasalong is the brand that produces and distributes quality rice varieties from northern plantations especially the rice grown in Chiang Rai.
Golden ears of rice represent the fertility of the soil and natural water sources of the highlands surrounded by mountains. That makes the rice of the North soft and has a good texture that is unique and special unlike from other areas.
